Download VizWave
VizWave for Windows and Linux, free edition. No account needed, no time limit. A license, when you buy one, turns the same app into Pro or Studio, on either system.
On Linux? Jump to Linux (beta).
Windows
The easiest way: the Store installs VizWave in one click and keeps it up to date.
Or download the installer
For PCs without the Microsoft Store, or if you'd rather install it yourself. It's the same app; a license works in both.
VizWave 1.0.2 · 19 MB · all versions and release notes
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may warn about it, as it does for any new app:
- Microsoft Edge may say "VizWave-Setup.exe isn't commonly downloaded": in Downloads, choose ⋯ → Keep, then Show more → Keep anyway.
- When you open it, Windows may say "Windows protected your PC": choose More info → Run anyway.
Each release lists the file's SHA-256, so you can check it is the one published.
Linux (beta)
The same VizWave for 64-bit Linux. It's new, so please tell us if something doesn't work on your distribution.
Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Pop!_OS
Double-click it to install, or run sudo apt install ./vizwave_1.0.2_amd64.deb in a terminal. VizWave then appears in your app menu. Ubuntu 22.04 or newer, Mint 21+, Debian 12+.
Fedora, Arch, openSUSE and others
One file, nothing to install. Allow it to run as a program first: right-click it, choose Properties and turn on Allow executing as program (or run chmod +x VizWave-x86_64.AppImage), then double-click it.
Both make VP9 and AV1 videos out of the box. For H.264, VizWave uses your distribution's ffmpeg and shows the command that installs it.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit; or 64-bit Linux from 2022 on (glibc 2.35 or newer)
